Distant Relatives

Andres Zacco is a Buenos Aires–based DJ and producer with more than 25 years of experience behind the decks and releasing music since 2006. His musical identity is rooted in the dialogue between house, techno and electro, shaped by a strong sense of energy, dynamics and long-form progression. Over the last two decades, he has developed a distinctive sound through releases on labels such as Tresor, Ilian Tape, Greener and Airdrop. His productions combine hypnotic rhythms, deep textures and emotional atmospheres, reflecting a personal approach that avoids rigid genre boundaries while maintaining a strong underground character. His DJ sets are built around movement and contrast, weaving together house, techno and electro into dynamic musical narratives focused on tension, release and groove. Andres has performed extensively across Argentina and South America, and regularly in Europe, appearing at some of the most respected clubs and festivals including Berlin Atonal, Sonar, Mutek, Waking Life, Fusion, Tresor Berlin, Rex Club Paris, Concrete Paris, Blitz Munich and Studio 80 Amsterdam, among many other venues and events. In Buenos Aires, he curates and hosts the long-running monthly event CTRL+Z at Avant Garten, a platform dedicated to contemporary and forward-thinking electronic music, supporting both emerging and established artists. In recent years, he has focused on his duo project OSCEAN with Seph. Between 2022 and 2023, the project released three albums on Tresor Records: Ideoma, Multirays and Chromium Radiance. The trilogy represents an exploration of complex and immersive electronic composition, combining abstract textures, deep rhythmic structures and emotional atmospheres. Through these releases, OSCEAN expands Zacco’s artistic practice beyond the DJ format into long-form narrative and sound design, positioning the project as a distinct body of work within contemporary electronic music. Currently, Andres is an active member of the artistic collective Collage Universe, a platform dedicated to developing contemporary electronic music experiences across Argentina and Uruguay. Through this collective, he has been involved for several years in the creation and curation of some of the most respected club nights and immersive events in the region. He remains fully active as a DJ and producer, continuing to expand his artistic practice while performing regularly in South America and abroad.
