J. Raise, Jr is an artist and producer rooted in hip hop, exploring its intersection with jazz and contemporary soul. His music blends melodic sensitivity and expressive depth with refined rhythmic structures, alongside a conscious use of sampling as both a compositional tool and a space for exploration. He grew up as a self-taught artist between Italy, Canada and the Netherlands starting his music path with a series of instrumental beat tapes on the independent labels Resilienza Records and NINETOFIVE, gradually creating a listeners base on an international level In 2023, he joined Island Records (UMG), becoming the first instrumental beats project in Italy signed on a major label and released CALL FOR YOU, a collaborative album with British artist Alijaa, featuring international guests including Mick Jenkins, parthenope, Frank Nitt (Frank N Dank) and Hiero.
